Terex American introduced the HC 230, a 230 US ton (209 tonnes) capacity crawler crane during the 2Q of 2007, which new machine bridge the gap between their current line HC 165 and HC 275.

Product Description

Preliminary specifications include a maximum lift capacity of 230 tons at up to 16 feet radius (92HI boom with offset tip). The crane will be powered by a Cummins QSL9 turbocharged and after-cooled, Tier III 8.9 litres diesel engine.

An eight piece removable counterweight system is designed for each pin-connect section to be assembled or disassembled easily within minutes. The hydraulic counterweight removal system is standard and makes the HC230 one of the most transportable cranes in its class.

The crawler can be transported on nine trucks with 79 metres (260 feet) of boom and standard counterweight package. At 3.5 metres (11 feet 6 inches) wide and 3.4 metres (11 feet 3 inches) high, the basic HC230 will transport on a standard lowbed trailer.
