The crane is equipped with a 4.0-ton counterweight ensuring a 12-ton axle load, a 64-meter main boom, and an optional extension ranging from 9 to 33 meters for versatility in reach. It boasts a high-comfort, advanced engine and transmission system, alongside speed-dependent rear axle steering enhancing maneuverability and stability. The Demag AC160-1 is a highly advanced all-terrain crane that incorporates a multitude of features aimed at enhancing its performance, safety, and operator comfort. This model is distinguished by its 10 x 8 x 8 drive/steering system and a torsion-resistant box girder frame made from high-strength fine grain structural steel, ensuring durability and reliability under various operational conditions.

Outfitted with four fully hydraulic telescopic outriggers, the AC160-1 provides exceptional stability. The crane’s power comes from a water-cooled 8 cylinder DaimlerChrysler diesel engine OM 502 LA, delivering 380 kW (516 HP) at 1800 rpm, and a torque of 2400 Nm at 1200 rpm. This robust engine is paired with a ZF AS-Tronic electronically automated transmission featuring 16 forward and 2 reverse speeds, integrated with a retarder and cruise control for smooth transitions.

The AC160-1’s suspension system is hydro-pneumatic on all axles, hydraulically lockable for on-site travel, enhancing its adaptability to varied terrains. Its wheels are fitted with 14.00 R 25 tires from Michelin or Bridgestone, chosen for their reliability and performance.

The hoist features a fixed displacement axial piston hydraulic motor with integrated planetary gear reducer and a spring-applied multi-disk brake. Additionally, the crane is equipped with an innovative boom elevation mechanism, a highly comfortable and tiltable crane cab, and a 50t divisible counterweight that can be hydraulically stowed on the carrier.

Optional equipment for the AC160-1 includes a runner, twist arrestor, heavy lift attachment, emergency control interface, warning light, rooster sheave, alternative wheels and tires, and a second hoist, all designed to enhance the crane’s versatility and capability in a wide range of lifting operations.
