Demag AC 40/2L

The Demag AC 40-2L is a 40-ton capacity all-terrain crane, designed to offer outstanding lifting reach and power in a compact, highly maneuverable format. As a two-axle mobile crane, it is engineered for excellent travel performance and quick site setup, ideal for projects in confined spaces or urban environments.

A standout feature of the AC 40-2L is its 37.4-meter long main telescopic boom—the longest in its class when it debuted. This gives the crane superior reach without needing to deploy a jib, improving setup efficiency. The crane can also be equipped with a 13-meter offsettable swing-away jib, providing a maximum system length of 50.4 meters and enhanced flexibility for lifting at height or over obstructions.

The crane is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 906 LA diesel engine, delivering 205 kW (279 hp) at 2,200 rpm. This engine supports road speeds of up to 80 km/h, enabling fast transport between sites. The engine complies with Euro 3 emission standards and is coupled with an automatic transmission system, providing smooth transitions and fuel-efficient performance.

The carrier features permanent all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering, offering excellent off-road capability and tight turning radii essential for confined worksites. This is complemented by hydropneumatic suspension and independent axle control for optimal terrain adaptability and operator comfort.

The superstructure includes the Demag IC-1 control system, offering intuitive load moment monitoring, safety interlocks, and operational diagnostics. Lifting operations are powered by a variable-displacement hydraulic system that ensures precise control and efficient energy use.
