UK based Ellis Crane Hire has taken delivery a 60 tonne Grove GMK 3060L All Terrain crane.
Replacing its predecessor – the GMK 3060 – the new GMK 3060L features a 48 metre six section main boom plus an 8.7 to 15 metre bi-fold hydraulic luffing swingaway extension. Features include a Stage V Cummins diesel, Grove’s MAXbase variable outrigger setup and monitoring system and a manual emergency recovery boom system.
Managing director Simon Ellis said: “This is the third version of a three axle crane from Grove that we have invested in. The first, a 55 tonne Grove GMK 3055 in 2005, was our initial step into the All Terrain market after 20 years of running truck mounted cranes. This proved to be a strong, versatile and popular crane and was earning it’s keep very quickly. This was subsequently joined by a 60 tonne GMK 3060 and an 80 tonne GMK 4080-1 as our All Terrain fleet expanded. The new GMK 3060L with its longer boom length, MAXbase outrigger system and same compact dimensions became the natural replacement for our GMK 3060.”
Based near Gloucester, family owned Ellis Crane Hire runs a fleet of 11 All Terrain cranes topped by a 90 tonne Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2.
