At the Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant’s Unit 3, the final internal stainless steel module—the third module of the fully enclosed injection tank in the reactor cavity—was hoisted into place. With that, all internal modules are now installed, paving the way for the critical dome installation. Once again, Zoomlion’s crawler cranes played a starring role, helping push forward the “Hualong One” program’s batch construction with fresh momentum.
This non‑active injection tank is a sector‑shaped, fully enclosed structure built with a modular + pre‑lining method. The three modules assemble the tank, and the third module alone weighed 132.5 tons. Onsite challenges were steep: tight spaces in the nuclear island, overlapping workflows, and demands for millimeter‑scale precision. Yet the Zoomlion crawler crane handled the job with steady control, achieving precision installation safely and efficiently.
But this success is not isolated. Earlier on September 28, Zoomlion’s 2,000‑ton crawler crane executed the first major module hoisting at the Jinshanmen Nuclear Power Plant’s Unit 1—namely, the steel liner module within the containment structure. That lift stood out because it marked the first time in the industry that batch nuclear‑grade sleeve tube panel submerged arc automatic welding was adopted in module installation. Thanks to the “New Quality Hualong” (新质华龙) technology, Zoomlion overcame the complexities of lifting “thin‑walled heavy equipment” in one go.
