Liebherr’s Ship crane department has recently extended their CBG cranes with a new model – the CBG 360.
It is a robust four-rope grab crane designed for high speed bulk handling. With many years of experience from the operation of preceding model, the CBG 350, this current crane was put into development which will have a maximum capacity of 60 tonnes in hook opreation and 48 tonnes in grab operation. Boom lengths between 26 and 36 meters are possible and the outreach of the crane can be further extended by up to 12 meters through an additional ex-center platform.
Similar to other CBG series, the most important hydraulic and mechanical parts are position in dust-proof machine house, making the CBG 360 resistant against diverse weather conditions.
The specially developed high performance winches are designed for continuous operation and ensure constant and reliable performance with full load. In addition, they have on safety winding which has a positive effect on the service life of the ropes. The rope pulleys and the wire ropes has been further developed in order to ensure an increased capacity and service life.
New additional maintenance platforms on the slewing column and boom improve the access to all crane components, providing optimum maintenance conditions.
The customized extended cabin support excellent vision for the crane operator and enhance the safety during operation.
It is equipped with Liebherr’s own integrated control system, Litronic, which automatically monitors the crane\s heel and trim and responds with the appropriate emergency program in critical situations. This make the crane not only suitable for operation in sheltered waters but also in open seas for servicing vessels up to Capesize (largest dry cargo ship).
The complete development of the CBG 360 was carried out in consideration of the European Parliment’s directive 2006/42/EC and is therefore CE certified.
