First HS 8300 HD Duty Cycle Crawler Crane Sold To Zeta S.r.l

Chioggia, Italian-based Zeta S.r.l. has taken delivery of the first unit of HS 8300 HD duty cycle crawler crane.

The crane will be installed on a ship for various dredging applications in the Mediterranean Sea. The 41,000 ton giant hopper dredger ship manufactured by Cantiere Navale Vittoria will housed the HS 8300 HD crawler crane, mainly for maintaining of navigable waterways in the Mediterranean Sea, especially trough deepening those canals that are seriously threatened of becoming silted.

Mounted on a pedestal, the HS 8300 HD has a total weight of estimated 240 ton. It is equipped with a main boom of 41m and an underwater 2-rope hydraulic clamshell with a capacity of 20 m3. For optimum performance, the crane is fitted with two hydraulic free fall winches offering approximately 50 ton of line pull each.
