Dutch crane and access rental company Kraanverhuur Boekestijn has taken delivery of the first six tonne Liebherr MK 73-3.1 mobile self-erecting tower crane in the Netherlands.

Launched in March 2021, the three axle MK 73-3.1 can take its maximum capacity to a radius of 12 metres and has a maximum jib tip capacity of 1,850kg at 38.5 metres with the jib in the horizontal trolley configuration. It can also luff up to 45 degrees to offer a maximum hook height of 51 metres with a maximum radius of 26.7 metres and a 1,850kg capacity.

The crane superstructure is entirely electric powered and operated either by the onboard generator or an onsite 63 or 32 amps mains power outlet. The smallest model in Liebherr’s MK range, it offers an overall length of 13.8 metres, a width of 2.75 metres and a height of four metres.

About the company

Founded by Pieter Boekestijn in 1943, the company manufactured its own truck mounted crane in 1950 and continued to add cranes to its fleet as the business focused more on vehicle recovery. The company now runs a fleet of 40 All Terrain, tower and crawler cranes, a fleet of transport and haulage vehicles and a number of boom and scissor lifts from its location in Maasland.
