Huisman install crane on OOS Walcheren

Oos Walcheren 4 20200308

Another milestone has been reached for the OOS Walcheren with the 2,200 metric ton Offshore Mast Crane with reeved crane wires installed onboard.

Using a 3,000 metric ton dual hook floating crane, the Offshore Mast Crane was installed on OOS Walcheren in a single lift.

China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) (CMHI) has been contracted to build the ship and the steel cutting ceremony was held on 24th May 2018. It was the second newbuild SSCV ordered by OOS International at CMHI so far.

OOS Walcheren is the third vessel using the asymmetric brace-less semi-submersible design within the OOS fleet. The first is the OOS Gretha, currently operating in Brazil and the second is the OOS Serooskerke, delivered in the third quarter of 2019 (now delay to first quarter of 2020).
