Megalift has moved a 60-tonne locomotive and a 17-tonne wagon for the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) railway project in Malaysia.
Megalift has been involved in various stages of the MRT project and this latest movement saw the company transfer the components from the manufacturing depot to one of the construction sites.
The locomotive measured 15.63 m x 2.78 m x 3.6 m, while the wagon had dimensions of 13 m x 2.5 m x 2 m.
At the construction site, Megalift handled the lifting of the locomotive and wagon from the ground to the elevated railway platform, which stood at a height of approximately 17 m.
“The MRT Line-2 will be the country’s 12th rail transit line and the fourth fully automated and driverless rail system in the Klang Valley Area,” said Megalift. “The rail [system] has 37 stations spanning 52.2 km in length, of which 11 stations (13.5 km) are underground.”
Megalift is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN).
