One person was killed in an incident involving a crane at the Eastman Chemical Company in Longview on 24th Oct.

Captain Tyler Owen with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident was fatal and said deputies are at the scene.

The person who died in an incident involving a crane at Eastman Chemical Company in Longview has been identified as a contracted employee of Joyce Crane.

The name of the deceased will not be released at this moment. 

“Today, an employee of Joyce Crane was working at an Eastman site in Longview, Texas, when he was involved in a crane accident. He died as a result of his injuries. We are deeply saddened by this loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time,” Eastman Chemical Company statement said.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration and HCSO will continue to investigate this incident.

“The preliminary investigation indicates this is a horrible accident. Loss of life is tragic in any circumstance, and we will continue to keep this family in our thoughts and prayers,” said Sheriff B.J. Fletcher.
