A crane operator was killed in a freak accident last Wednesday when a crawler crane has tipped over to its side. The incident happened near a supermarket in Jalan Petanak around 7.20 pm
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said at the scene, the deceased’s body was trapped under the crane which had tipped over on its side.
Bomba also stated that rescuers from the Padungan station could only secure the safety around the perimeter of the incident while waiting for the construction company to bring in another crane to lift up the tipped-over crane.
It was also revealed that the deceased is a male in his 50’s.
After the body was successfully extricated, it was handed over to the police for further action.
