Crawler crane collapse in Sentul, Malaysia

A crawler crane has collapsed at a condominium construction site in Bandar Baru Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday’s evening. The demised crane damaged three houses and two passenger vehicles, injuring four people, including a 3-month-old infant.

The demised crane has damaged a squatter house and two shops on Jalan 2/48A in Bandar Baru Sentul and also caused traffic congestion while the boom section lies across the lanes.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has received the called at 6.34 pm. A team of firefighters from the Sentul Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene.

A family of four was in their home when the crane collapses onto the house. The baby has suffered a broken leg and was rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment. Currently, the victims are in stable condition.

The police are now investigating the incident to observe if there were elements of negligence at the construction site.

The crawler crane is reported to be own by crane rental company, TSC crane.
