Hook Block Fell On Container Worker In Navotas

At around 1:45 am on the 17th of October, Marjun Rafael (34), has died when one of the hook blocks of the hoisting crane came off and hit his head directly.

The incident happened at a container cargo yard in Navotas, Philippines.

Initial hearings said that while moving a 40-foot container, one of the hooks came off and hit Rafael’s head directly. However, it was difficult to determine the accident situation because it was 24 hours after the police were notified. 

The Metropolitan Police Department Navotas has begun a full-scale investigation to clarify the cause of the accident. According to the office, Rafael was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was transferred.
