Moscow-based Topkran has placed an EUR42 million (USD52.3 million) order with Liebherr for the delivery of mobile and crawler cranes. The order includes cranes with lifting capacities ranging between 220 and 1,350 tonnes.
The Russian crane and heavy haulage contractor cited the growing market and increasing demand for large cranes in Russia as the reasons behind its fleet expansion.
Topkran, which to date has only been active in Russia, plans to expand its presence in CIS markets this year.
Karen Mkhitaryan, co-proprietor of Topkran, said: “Topkran plans to extend its range of services. We plan to offer complete project services, from logistics to installation, so that our customers can optimise their cost base and can order complete solutions from a single contractor.”
The new cranes will have industrial applications and will primarily be used petrochemicals and infrastructure projects.
