Singapore based sales and rental company Sin Heng Heavy Machinery has taken delivery of the first 250 tonne Grove GMK5250XL-1 All Terrain crane in the country.
The five axle GMK5250XL-1 features an eight section 78.5 metre main boom – the longest in its class – topped by an 18 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can be extended to 34 metres with additional inserts.
Features include a Mercedes Tier 4F/Euromot 5 engine with Mercedes G280 16 speed transmission and Megatrak suspension system and all wheel steering. The crane will be used to support large scale construction, civil engineering and oil and gas projects in Singapore.
Established in 1969, Sin Heng Heavy Machinery and its subsidiaries provides a range of heavy lifting, access rental and engineering services throughout Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia and Hong Kong. It is also the appointed distributor of Kato, Kobelco and Arcomet cranes.

The GMK5250XL-1 is gaining popularity with its small footprint, especially in a country like Singapore, where most site have space constraint issues. Few years back, another Singapore-based rental crane Asiagroup has also bought the first GMK5250L in Singapore.
