Fresno, California — A Chevrolet truck owner was left in disbelief as he witnessed a Bucyrus Erie crane tipping over onto its side, essentially slicing the truck in half. The incident not only resulted in the truck being rendered a complete loss, but it also caused substantial damage to many of the tools stored inside.
Both the owner and his nephew had to swiftly move out of the crane’s boom path as it came crashing down. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be launching an investigation into the incident to ascertain whether the crane was operated in accordance with safety protocols.
At the time of the accident, the crane was in the process of lifting lumber for a construction project in central Fresno. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries stemming from the incident.
