Liebherr LHM 600 Mobile Harbour Crane

Latin America certainly has a clear preference for the Liebherr 600 series. With the first LHM 600 delivered in 2009, it was followed by two further deliveries in 2010. The figure increase to 3 units in 2011 and rose to 5 units in 2012.

The deliveries peaked in 2013 with total of 10 units sold with Montecon S. A. ordered 2 units, Hutchison Port Holdings is the biggest buyer with 4 units for Latin America ports and 3 units for Mexico. Buenos Aires Container Terminal Service S.A. with their 1st unit in Argentina.

Latin America Liebherr invested in some $20 million in a new sales and service centre in Miami. Opened in June 2013, the new centre serves as a major hub for Liebherr’s maritime cranes division and further strengthening their business relationships to the Latin American region. The newly built complex is situated on a total property area covering about 40,000 sqm and a building of total area of 3,800 sqm. It started off with 52 staff members in the new facility in 2013.

Technical Specifications


The LHM 600 has a taller-than-standard design to simplify the handling of big container vessels up to Super-Post-Panamax size.

Its tower extension, putting the operator cabin at a height of 37 metres, ensure high visibility into deep cargo holds. A 12 metres extension helps to improve handling efficiency. With a maximum outreach of 58 metres, twin lifting capacity and a capacity of 104 ton,  the LHM 600 can service vessels up to 19 container row wide and 9 containers high.
