Fatal Dropped Load

A man died on 27th feb after a Rough Terrain crane dropped its load while working on a ranch in Johnson County, Tennessee

Details are limited however the crane was being used by a contractor to relocate a number of silos on the ranch when the man was struck by something that was dropped by the crane. This might have been a hook block or a load, but indications suggest it was the ‘headache ball’ on the auxiliary winch line. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
