In Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture, there was an accident in which a mobile crane fell into a rice field a few meters below a national highway.
According to the police, around 3:30 pm on the 2 March, an employee of a nearby company called 110 to say that a mobile crane was overturned on the side of the road in Tome City.
The mobile crane has fallen into a rice field several metres below National Route 45, and a man who is believed to be the driver is trapped in the driver’s seat.
Firefighters are now on the scene. No passers-by were involved in the accident.
Judging from the situation at the scene, the police believe that the crane was travelling along Route 45 from Minamisanriku-cho to Ishinomaki-shi.
