Philippine contractor, ready mix concrete supplier and rental company – Geo-Transport & Construction – has taken delivery of four Tadano Rough Terrain cranes, a 110-tonne GR-1100EX-3 and three 80-tonne GR-800EX-3. The cranes were purchased through Tadano distributor Monark Equipment.

The GR-1100EX-3 boasts a six-section 56 metres rounded profile main boom, topped by a 10.1 to 17.7-metre bi-fold swing away extension, with up to 45 degrees of offset. The maximum tip height is just over 76 metres.

The 80-tonne GR-800EX-3 has a five-section 47-metre full power main boom topped by the same 10.1 to 17.7-metre bi-fold swing away extension, with up to 45 degrees of offset. The maximum tip height is 67 metres.

Geo works on a range of construction projects, including government infrastructure and private industrial facilities in cities across The Philippines. The new 110-tonne GR-1100EX-3 went straight to work on a government construction project on an urban jobsite in Cavite, south of Manila. The job required the crane to set up, the crane had to operate within a confined space in an awkward-to-reach location the fact that the crane was moved in on just two trucks was an advantage.

Once on site the two riggers, were able to unload and set the crane up ready to work in around 40 minutes, the variable/asymmetrical outrigger set-up combined with the crane’s AML-C Automatic Moment Limiter also proved useful.
