It was late for our blog to announce the news that Mr Sanghvi, chief executive of India’s heavy lifting company Sanghvi Movers has passed away on 8th April 2019, following a battle with cancer, he was 65.
Let’s take a look back into Mr Sanghvi’s life in the heavy lifting industry.
He established Sanghvi Movers in 1989 when he purchased his first crane, a new Tadano TG700E hydraulic truck crane. Then after years of hard work, he took the company public in 1995 and ordered a number of new cranes with the proceeds, including a Demag CC2400 crawler crane.
It was a breakthrough for him in 1998 when he shipped 36 units of cranes from Singapore to India to fulfil a contract for the massive Reliance Industries petrochemical plant that is built in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
He is survived by wife Mina, son Rishi – who has taken over the running of the business alongside joint managing director and chief financial officer Sham Kajale – and two daughters, Ruchi and Niyoshi.
