A self-erecting tower crane overturned onto a small apartment block in the city of Mannheim, Germany on the 3th March.
We understand that the crane had not been set up that long and was to be used for the construction of a new block. The top section of the tower seems to have parted company with the base sections, with the jib landing on the apartment building alongside the foundation for the new structure.
Thankfully no one was hurt in the incident, but the two top floor apartments were virtually destroyed. An investigation is ongoing, and heavy debris was scattered over the cars in the street.
