On the morning of the 4th August, a crane working along the coast in Oki Town had an accident where it tipped over. According to the police, three people were injured, and they are conducting a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
Before 9:30 AM on the 4th, a report was made to the fire department that “a crane has tipped over and three workers are injured” along the coastline within the premises of the Goka Branch of the JF Shimane Saigo Office in the northern part of Oki Town. Footage captured by NHK shows the crane lying on its side, with police officers and others gathered around to assess the situation and gather information from those involved.
According to the police, so far, three men in their 30s to 60s have been injured and transported to a local hospital. Initially, the police stated that one man was unconscious, but later confirmed that he was conscious when being transported.
A man in his 70s who lives near the accident site and is engaged in fishing told NHK during a telephone interview, “It seems that the crane toppled over while we were using it to replace fixed nets on a boat.” The police are investigating the details of the accident.
