Finnish crane and transport contractor J.Helaakoski Oy has significantly extended its range of services upwards by purchasing a Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1.
Previously a 500-tonne machine was the company’s most powerful crane. Helaakoski decided to buy a used crane straight from the manufacturer Liebherr. The Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 is now also the most powerful mobile crane in Finland.
“Our customers’ lifting capacity requirements have risen. We, therefore, decided to buy a larger crane. The LTM 1750-9.1 was available from Liebherr with a full range of equipment. The used crane was in good condition and its price was reasonable. Another benefit for us is the fact that we had to invest less than for a new crane,” explains company owner Juha Helaakoski. The focal points for the purchase were on high lifting capacity coupled with low-cost mobility. The key feature of the Liebherr 9-axle crane is that the entire telescopic boom can be conveyed on public roads. In terms of construction, it is designed for particularly short set-up times. Tomi Sulonen, Operations Manager at Helaakoski, says: “The LTM 1750-9.1 is peerless in its class. We also believe that we can rely on Liebherr even if we buy used cranes from the company. Its after-sales service is outstanding”.
90 per cent of the contractor’s approximately 50 cranes were supplied by Liebherr. J. Helaakoski Oy is one of the leading crane contractors in Scandinavia and provides a full service from planning to completion. The company also hires work platforms and telescopic loaders as well as providing transport services.
