UK based crane rental company NMT has taken delivery of a new 230 tonne five-axle Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 All Terrain crane.

The new crane features an eight section 75 metre main boom and an 11.5 to a 20-metre bi-fold swing-away extension that offsets by up to 40 degrees. The maximum tip height with the extension is 97 metres. Features include VarioBallast, VarioBase outrigger set up and monitoring system, a Stage V power unit with a ZF TraXon transmission, plus ECOmode and ECOdrive as well as remote controls. In the UK the crane can travel with 22 tonnes of ballast without exceeding the 16.5-tonne STGO axle loadings.

Director Tim Ambridge said: “It has been a tough two years or so with the uncertainty that Brexit brought, then the pandemic, and on top of that a couple of corrupt – now-former – employees. We have now turned the corner and are experiencing a fantastic 2021 and this is the perfect machine for NMT going forward.“

Established in 1976, NMT was founded by Nick, Mark and Tim Ambridge and was originally set up as a recovery business based in Bedford.
