Link-Belt debuts truck crane with new boom system

20210609 linkbelt 65ht debut cranefest

Link-Belt Cranes has rolled out a new 65 US ton (55 metric ton) truck crane, the 65|HT. New features include a four-section 36.5 to 115 foot (11.2 – 35 meter) full-power boom that reaches a maximum tip height of 125 feet (38.1 meter), the new unit will replace the HTC-8660 Series II. The crane also has a new formed boom system with Teflon-impregnated wear pads that do not require grease.

The 65|HT features the next generation of emission standards with an EPA 2021 certified Cummins L9 engine that provides 260 hp (194 kW) at 2,000 RPM.

Link-Belt Cranes has unveiled the new 65|HT, a 65 US ton (55 metric ton) capacity truck crane, that can reduce its transport weight to less than 65,000 lbs (29,483 kg) with all counterweight removed.

Improved capacities over its predecessor are delivered through three optimised boom extend modes and an increase in maximum counterweight to 18,700 pounds (8,482 kg), Link-Belt said. Operator controls are available in either a dual or single axis configuration and have a fine metering feature for precise operation. The 65|HT features Link-Belt Pulse, a Link-Belt designed, total crane operating system that utilises an in-cab display as a readout and operator interface with on-board diagnostics including the rated capacity limiter, wind speed, boom length and angle, radius of load, and crane configuration just to name a few.

Durable textured and slip-resistant paint on all walking surfaces improves durability and footing, while the vision package includes cameras for winch-view, right-side swing view, rear-view backup, and right-side turn, giving the operator great jobsite visibility during travel, setup, and lifting, Link-Belt said.

The 65|HT was designed for transport flexibility and jobsite travel, the company said. A fully equipped 65|HT can reduce its transport weight to less than 65,000 pounds (29,483 kg) with all counterweight removed.

The crane also includes an upper work platform; halogen daytime running headlights and LED marker lighting; four points of access to the carrier; antilock (ABS) drum brakes; pre-painted, plated hardware; and powder-coated tubing; on-line ground bearing (force); and optional aviation obstruction marking light and flag.

At the same time, Link-Belt has also announced the debut of new 55 US ton telescopic crawler TCC-550 as well.
