An unstowed loader crane overturned while travelling on a road in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, Western Canada on Wednesday (22nd June) when the boom caught up in overhead power lines running alongside and across the road.
Quite how it managed to get caught up has not been explained, but thankfully no one was hurt in the incident. A large mobile crane was brought in for the recovery, which was challenging due to the presence of the wires etc.
It demonstrates the importance of properly stowing such cranes before travelling.
