Motor Cyclist dies after colliding into a stationary crane in Hong Kong

A 53-year-old motorcyclist died in a traffic accident in Tsing Yi last Thursday.

The man was heading along Container Port Road just before midnight, when he hit a stationary mobile crane truck parked on the slow lane of the road near the Customs and Excise Department Vehicle Detention Centre.

He sustained a serious head injury and was stuck in between his motorcycle and the truck.

He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital unconscious and was certified dead shortly afterwards at 12.38 am on Friday.

The crane belongs to a local crane rental company, Kanson Crane & Heavy Transport, which is believed to be a Liebherr LTM1500-8.1.
