Tiong Woon add 20 units of 64 tons Yongmao Tower Crane

It is yet another big Bauma China 2018 held in Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). As one of the top 10 tower crane manufacturer in the world, YONGMAO showcased the China largest flat-top tower crane, STT3930-200T (Tip load of 79.11tons @ 50m jib, 200tons @ 21m radius) in the exhibition, which will be used to build bridges across Chang Jiang River in Nanjing, China.

During the exhibition, Singapore-based crane rental company, Tiong Woon Tower Crane Pte Ltd, (hereinafter referred to as TWTC), subsidiary of Tiong Woon Corporation Holding Ltd, and Yongmao Machinery Pte. Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to as YMM), subsidiary of Yongmao Holdings Ltd, both parties has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

As the first STT1330 tower crane user in Singapore, TWTC has influenced the market to adopt this crane for PPVC construction. Till now, TWTC has ordered a total of 20 units of YONGMAO flat top STT1330 & STT1830, which will be subsequently be delivered throughout the first half of 2019.

STT1830 will be the largest flat-top tower crane ever being used in the Singapore residential construction project, which the maximum jib length could reach 80m with 18.00tons tip load. Short jib length is more preferred in Singapore, for a 50m jib length, the tip load can reach 35.60tons, which suits well for the Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) construction.

With the implementation of the PPVC construction, and Singapore Housing & Development Board (HDB) looking to archive PPVC adoption rate to 35% in 2020 from the current 23%, there will be more demands for high capacity tower cranes. There will be a total of 50 over units of 1000 tm tower cranes to be used in Singapore by the first half of 2019.
