Product Description
The Shuttlelift 5540F is a highly functional carry deck crane with a maximum rated capacity of 15 US tons (13.6 metric tons), ideal for indoor and tight-space lifting operations. Its core lifting structure consists of an 18 ft. 6 in. to 41 ft. (5.6 m to 12.5 m) three-section full-power boom, enabling a maximum tip height of 46 ft. 3 in. (14.1 m). For added reach, it can be equipped with an optional 15 ft. (4.6 m) offsettable swingaway extension, extending the lifting envelope for more demanding tasks.
The 5540F is powered by a Cummins QSB 3.3L turbocharged diesel engine rated at 99 bhp (73.8 kW) @ 2600 rpm. It uses a 4×2 drive system delivering torque through an I.T.L. synchromesh 4-speed transmission with forward and reverse capabilities. The crane rides on 385/65R 22.5 radial tires, ensuring smooth, stable mobility.
Designed with operator control and efficiency in mind, the Shuttlelift 5540F includes a standard open-air operator station with a protective cab shell. Inside, users find clear displays for boom angle, boom length, load radius, and rated capacity through a hardwired Load Moment Indicator (LMI). Additional features include engine gauges, weather-sealed switches, a foot throttle, brake and transmission warnings, and an easy-to-read slant panel.
The hydraulic system is built for performance and durability. It features a 4-section gear pump producing up to 3500 psi (241.3 bars) of pressure, and an 88 GPM (333.1 LPM) combined output. The 5540F includes a 40-gallon (151.4 L) hydraulic reservoir with integrated sight and temperature gauges. The boom system consists of a power telescoping three-section hexagonal boom and a non-pivoting 2-sheave boom nose. Optional boom nose offset positions at 0°, 40°, and 80° are available.
Swing operations utilize a hydraulic worm gear and pinion, offering continuous 360° rotation at a maximum swing speed of 2.1 rpm. Safety and performance are further enhanced with features such as an anti-two block system, a wireless load indicator system (LSI), and an optional Rated Capacity Limiter (RCL) which electronically halts boom extension or retraction beyond rated limits.
The maximum hoist single line pull is 7,500 lb (3,402 kg) with a line speed of 126 feet/min (38.4 m/min), using ½” (12.7 mm) EEIPS wire rope. The drum is 9.75 inches (0.25 m) in diameter, and total rope length is 240 ft (73.0 m) for the three-section boom.
Constructed with a high-strength alloy steel frame, heavy-duty hydraulic outriggers with integral jacks, and a deck rated for 20,000 lb (9,072 kg), the Shuttlelift 5540F delivers outstanding reliability, easy serviceability, and robust performance in diverse industrial applications.
