On August 1, 2022, Futago Games Co., Ltd., which develops VR content, started selling “ Mobile Crane Operation Training VR ”. You can use VR to experience and train in mobile crane operation, which is costly to implement in reality.

Futago Games Co., Ltd. is a company in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture that develops and sells applications for VR, AR, PC, and smartphones. In the past, they have worked on BIM data VR conversion services that are mainly used in the construction industry, and VR training for the electrical construction industry.

The “Mobile Crane Operation Training VR”, which is now on sale, is also operated by Kaneishi Heavy Industries Co. , Ltd., also in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

They have realized the operation experience of “mobile crane” used at construction sites and construction in VR. By using VR, you can train without worrying about securing a place to move or accidents due to contact with buildings or obstacles.

It also works with commercially available integrated VR headsets and does not require a PC or special equipment to connect. By operating the four levers on the driver’s seat in VR, you can perform four actions: turning the driver’s seat, raising and lowering the jib (the arm protruding from the power unit), extending and retracting the jib, and hoisting.

“Mobile Crane Operation Training VR” has three modes: “Free Operation Mode”, “Test Mode”, and “Practice Mode”. In the “free operation mode”, you can intentionally create a “swaying load” that is dangerous and cannot be implemented in reality, and learn what to do in the event of an emergency.

The VR programme is currently only available in the Japanese language.
