On the morning of November 16th, in a shipyard in Sumoto City, Hyogo Prefecture, there was an accident where a part of a dismantled crane fell, and two male workers involved in the incident are in critical condition, unconscious.
Around 10:30 a.m. on the 16th, a report was made to the fire department that “a building collapsed during dismantling work” at a shipyard in Yura-cho, Sumoto City.
According to the police and fire department, during the dismantling of a crane for ships, the wire supporting a shed-like workplace installed at a height of about 10 meters broke and fell.
In this accident, one male worker, along with the workplace, fell, and another male worker underneath was also caught. Both individuals are presumed to be in their 30s and of Chinese nationality, and they are in critical condition, unconscious.
The police are investigating the detailed circumstances at the time, considering the possibility of professional negligence causing injury.
