Tadano HK70

The design uses Tadano’s highly successful ATF65G superstructure mounted to a four and five-axle commercial Mercedes chassis with rear-axle steering. The crane was designed in partnership with Mammoet – which took delivery of the first model in the UK late 2009.

The world’s largest crane rental company, Mammoet, took delivery of 25 units of HK70, with 15 units mounted on four-axle and 10 units mounted on a five-axle truck base.

Product Description

The chassis was adopted from Mercedes Benz four-axle Actros type 4146 8×4 trucks, with Euro 5 engine. The front two 9-ton axles are steered and driven by a 334kW, 12-litre V6 engine. All chassis were equipped with a 12-ton, electro-hydraulically steered tag axle which increases the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) to 54 tons, In order to make room for the fifth axle on the Actros, Mercedes Benz had extended the original chassis.
