Product Description
The Demag CC 2800 crawler crane is part of the heavy-duty lifting lineup from Demag, designed to offer both power and versatility in challenging environments. With a maximum lifting capacity of 600 tonnes, it is well-suited for projects requiring significant lifting power, such as wind turbine erection, bridge construction, and other infrastructure-heavy projects. The crane’s ability to adapt to various job sites is enhanced by its Superlift attachment, which increases its lifting capacity and stability, especially when working in confined or complex environments.
The boom configurations of the CC 2800 allow for a range of setup options. The main boom can be extended from 24 to 102 meters depending on the configuration, while the fly jib lengths range from 24 to 84 meters, offering flexibility in handling different lifting tasks. The crane’s Superlift system provides variable Superlift radii and allows the crane to achieve maximum performance even with heavy loads at long reaches.
For transportability, the crane’s components have been optimized to weigh less than 39 tonnes each, making the CC 2800 easier to mobilize across various job sites without requiring extensive support vehicles. It also features a high single-line pull of 146 kN, further enhancing its lifting efficiency.
The Superstructure of the crane is powered by a DaimlerChrysler OM 502 LA diesel engine, delivering 530 hp (390 kW) at 2000 rpm. The crane’s design incorporates high-strength fine-grain structural steel, which not only supports the massive loads but also ensures durability and longevity in demanding environments. The advanced control system, Demag IC-1, integrates touchscreen controls, allowing operators precise control over the crane’s movements and ensuring safety through features like load indicators and automatic power optimization.
Introduced in the early 2000s, the CC 2800 quickly became a favorite in the industry due to its blend of strength, versatility, and ease of transport. Its robust design and advanced technology continue to make it a competitive option in the 600-ton capacity class for industries such as energy, construction, and heavy manufacturing.
