Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX550E

The Hitachi-Sumitomo SCX550E is a versatile crawler crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 55 tons at a 3.7-meter working radius, suitable for various medium-duty lifting tasks. The crane is equipped with a basic boom length of 10 meters, extendable up to a maximum of 52.7 meters, allowing for a broad range of lifting applications. For additional reach, a crane jib can be fitted, ranging from 6 to 15 meters, resulting in a combined boom and jib length of up to 67.7 meters (52.7 meters + 15 meters).

The crane is powered by an Isuzu 6HK1 Stage II engine, delivering 140 kW (190 PS) at 2,000 rpm. The crane’s travel speed is 1.5 km/h, which facilitates efficient mobility on job sites. The crane has a gradeability of 30%, allowing it to operate on slopes and uneven terrain with stability.

Ground contact pressure varies based on the configuration, with approximately 67.0 kPa for the liftcrane mode (with a 55-ton hook) and about 70.5 kPa in clamshell mode (with a 1.2 m³ bucket). The crane’s operating weight is approximately 50.0 tons with the basic boom and hook configuration, and 52.6 tons in clamshell mode.
