Key Features & Benefits
The Kato KR-35H-V (also marketed as SS-350) represents a class-leading rough terrain crane with a rated lifting capacity of 35 metric tons. Designed for both urban job sites and rugged off-road environments, this crane combines a high-reach boom system with a compact, maneuverable chassis, offering remarkable operational efficiency and transportability.
The heart of the crane is its five-section fully hydraulic telescoping boom, extending from 9.6 meters to an impressive 36.2 meters. Complementing this reach is a 13.2-meter jib that enables a maximum lifting height of 50.9 meters (when using boom plus jib), while the boom alone can achieve up to 37.6 meters. The boom offers elevation angles from -2° to 83°, and the jib tilts to either 5° or 30°, offering flexibility in accessing hard-to-reach areas. The winch system delivers hoisting speeds of up to 111 m/min for the main winch and 60 m/min for the auxiliary, ensuring quick load handling.
Built to move swiftly between job sites, the KR-35H-V reaches a road speed of 49 km/h. It is powered by a Mitsubishi 6D22 diesel engine with a displacement of 11.4 liters, delivering 270 PS at 2,200 rpm and a torque output of 107 kgf·m at 1,200 rpm. The robust carrier features a full-time 4WD system and 4-wheel steering, supporting various steering modes to navigate confined or uneven terrain. It has a minimum turning radius of 5.2 meters (crab steering) and 8.3 meters in 2-wheel steering mode.
The carrier is equipped with heavy-duty outriggers that extend laterally to a span of 5.3 meters, ensuring lifting stability. Its suspension system is hydraulically lockable with stabilizers, and braking is provided by a full-air system with disc-type service brakes and auxiliary retarders, promoting safe transport and operation.
Operator comfort and control are enhanced by a modern cab design fitted with a multi-function display system. The crane is equipped with an automatic moment limiter (ACS), winch drum rotation indicators, an oil cooler, and dual controller systems. Safety features include hydraulic safety valves, winch drum locks, counterbalance valves, and boom elevation angle sensors.
Whether navigating complex infrastructure sites or tackling general construction demands, the Kato KR-35H-V excels with a fine balance of lifting power, reach, control, and mobility—making it a preferred choice in the 35-ton class rough terrain segment.
