The popular Howard Smith Wharves and Riverside Walkway in Brisbane’s CBD have been evacuated with a large construction crane on the loose in the river on the 28th Feb.
A pontoon carrying the crane broke free of its mooring earlier this afternoon and has since been floating freely up and down the river.
“Anyone at Howard Smith Wharves, including surrounding businesses and the riverside walkway, are to EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY,” police tweeted around 2 pm.
