Broshuis suspends production amidst COVID-19

Broshuis Covid 19

Dutch trailer maker temporarily stops production at its factory in the Netherlands as a result of the Coronavirus COVID-19.

The factory was shut down on 30 March. Broshuis cited tighter government regulations, making it too difficult to control safety, plus a growing inability of suppliers to provide crucial parts. Broshuis said it temporarily stopped production due to a shortage of components and the major disruptions that have occurred in the supplier and logistics chain as a result of the distribution of COVID-19 in Europe.

Pieter-Bas Broshuis said, “Working with heavy components in combination with the 1.5-meter distance rule makes working safely simply impossible. Unacceptable to us, To ensure that our customers’ fleet can continue to roll, our service and maintenance will continue to support these customers. With this force majeure, we mainly think of everyone who is affected by the COVID-19 virus.”

At the time of writing in early April, Broshuis said it expected to resume production in early May, depending on how the virus developed.
