Milestones
Franz Bracht taken delivery of Europe’s first CC1500 in 2003.
The CC1500 went straight to work on its first job after being handed over to Franz Bracht at the INTERMAT exhibition in May 2003.
The 275-tonne crawler is being used to lift precast concrete components weighing up to 75 tonnes each, as part of the construction of a new UPS cargo centre at Cologne airport.
In order to avoid interference with the airport radar, the crane is rigged with 36m main boom and maximum 120 tonnes of counterweight and 20 tonnes of central ballast.
In addition, to overcome the height restriction, a specially designed attachment is used to allow the concrete piles to get as close to the boom head as possible.
