Product Description

The Kobelco BM700 is a robust foundation-based crawler crane, purpose-built for demanding applications like diaphragm wall construction and heavy-duty lifting tasks. This 70-ton class crane offers a maximum lifting capacity of 65 tonnes at a 4.1-meter working radius and is equipped with a 54.9-meter maximum boom length constructed from high-tensile lattice tubular steel with pin connections for section integrity. An optional fixed jib with a length of 18.3 meters extends its working range to a total of 45.7 meters.

At the core of the BM700 is a Mitsubishi 6D22-T turbocharged, 6-cylinder diesel engine delivering 230 PS (170 kW) at 1,800 rpm, with a torque of 102 kg-m at 1,200 rpm. The engine is paired with a large 360-liter fuel tank and is designed for reliable operation with low fuel consumption of approximately 154 g/PS-h. The powerplant supports a hydraulic system comprising variable displacement pumps dedicated to independent circuits for hoisting, swing, boom, and auxiliary equipment.

The crane features powerful winches with maximum line speeds of 100 m/min for both the main and auxiliary hoisting systems. Its primary winch offers a maximum line pull of 17 tonnes, ideal for pulling large loads over a 32-meter drum capacity. Both the boom and jib winches are powered by hydraulic axial piston motors through planetary reducers and are equipped with spring-loaded, hydraulically released multi-disc brakes. The boom hoist winch achieves a line speed of 65 m/min.

The swing system allows 360° continuous rotation, powered by hydraulic axial piston motors and offering a swing speed of 3.5 rpm. Safety systems include multiple redundant features such as hoist drum ratchets, hydraulic relief valves, boom angle indicators, overload moment limiters, and more. It also includes safety pawls for drum locking and boom backstops.

The lower machinery is built on a steel-welded carbody frame with track shoe width of 800 mm and 62 shoes per side, enabling a low ground pressure of 0.76 kg/cm². The crawler drive features independent hydraulic propulsion with planetary reduction and counter-rotation capabilities for superior steering and tight maneuvering in confined job sites. Maximum travel speed is 1.75 km/h with a gradeability of 40%.

The operator cab is fully enclosed, mounted on rubber and oil dampers for comfort, and includes safety glass, sliding windows, and full control accessibility for all crane functions. In addition, the crane integrates Kobelco’s Engine Speed Sensing (ESS) system that maximizes engine efficiency by maintaining ideal RPMs for power and fuel economy.

With an operating weight of approximately 65,000 kg, including a 9.1-meter boom and a 65-ton hook block, the BM700 represents a versatile, durable, and reliable lifting solution. It also comes with multiple hook block options (ranging from 0 to 5 sheaves) and wire rope specifications tailored to various heavy-duty applications.

This model stands out as a trusted foundation equipment base, equipped with extra hydraulic outlets (optional) for powering additional machinery, making it highly adaptable for a broad range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
