Key Features & Benefits
The Kobelco 7250 hydraulic crawler crane is a high-performance, heavy-duty lifting machine with a maximum lifting capacity of 250 metric tons at a 5.0-meter radius. Designed to tackle the most challenging hoisting tasks, the 7250 combines durable steel-welded construction with powerful hydraulics and intelligent safety systems to ensure reliability and efficiency across all job site conditions.
Powering the upper machinery is a Mitsubishi 8DC9T turbocharged diesel engine, producing 351 HP at 2,000 rpm. It features a displacement of 16.03 liters and a maximum torque of 138 kg-m at 1,400 rpm. The fuel tank has a capacity of 500 liters, and the engine system is cooled using a thermostatic pressurized water system. Electrical components include a 24V system with dual 200Ah batteries and a 6.0 kW starter.
The hydraulic system uses full-flow hydraulic controls and two variable displacement axial piston pumps. These drive the front and rear drums, boom hoist, and clutch/brake systems with immediate, smooth operator response. Hydraulic pressure is capped at 280 kg/cm² (230 kg/cm² for swing), supported by a 600-liter reservoir and an oil-to-air heat exchanger to maintain optimal fluid temperature and cleanliness.
The boom hoisting system features dual-line drums for 22 mm diameter wire rope and can hoist or lower loads at 20 m/min. The load hoist system employs two hydraulic axial piston motors on front and rear drums with 28 mm wire rope, enabling maximum line speeds of 90 m/min and equal lowering speeds.
Swing capabilities offer a full 360° rotation with a max swing speed of 2.0 rpm. The system includes a triple-row roller bearing with a large internal swing gear and spring-set hydraulically released brakes. An optional Quick Undecking Device allows easy cab separation for transport.
Lower machinery features steel-welded carbody construction with quick-disconnect crawler assemblies. Each track is fitted with 59 shoes (1,220 mm width) and 13 rollers per side. Independent hydraulic drive motors power each side through planetary gearboxes, allowing max travel speeds of 1.2 km/h (high range) and 0.6 km/h (low range), with a max gradeability of 30%.
The crane uses a six-piece 65,000 kg counterweight system behind the machinery deck, with an optional 30,000 kg carbody counterweight. Additional lifting power and operational flexibility are achieved through optional fixed and luffing jibs. The fixed jib allows for a max lift of 25 tons at 28 m, while the luffing jib handles 50 tons at 14 m radius. Boom and jib components use high-tensile tubular steel chords with pinned lattice construction.
Safety features include over-hoist protection, swing and drum locks, load moment limiters, and emergency cut-offs. The operator’s cab is weather-sealed and provides a full-view layout with adjustable seating, analog gauges, horn, windshield wipers, and safety lights for full control visibility.
Total working weight is approximately 200,000 kg (with 18.29 m boom and 250-ton block), yielding a ground pressure of 0.89 kg/cm² using 1,220 mm wide tracks. Hook blocks are available in various capacities from 250 tons down to 12.5 tons, offering flexibility for various load types and configurations.
