Key Features & Benefits
The SWQUY55 crawler crane from Sunward is engineered for efficient and safe mid-scale lifting operations, combining reliable mechanical systems with modern electronic monitoring and protection. Rated with a maximum lifting capacity of 55 metric tons, this model uses a classic lattice boom structure and dual-drum layout, aimed at achieving superior lifting stability and performance.
At the heart of the SWQUY55 is the Cummins 6BTA5.9-C180 engine, delivering 132 kW (approximately 177 HP) at 2200 rpm with a torque output of 700 Nm. The engine features a 5.9L displacement and complies with the 2nd-generation national emission standards, making it suitable for environmentally regulated zones while ensuring fuel efficiency and power delivery. This diesel engine is matched with a load-sensing variable displacement hydraulic system, supporting constant power regulation and adaptive load response.
The main boom is supported by high-tensile wire ropes, with a 20 mm rope diameter and a single-line pull of up to 55 kN, while maintaining a breaking force of 247 kN. The crane integrates a load sensing control system, HPR pumps, and variable pump distribution to manage complex lifting operations smoothly and adaptively. Both main and auxiliary drums feature electronically monitored over-release protection devices, helping to avoid slackening and entanglement of rope lines during operation.
Key safety systems include:
- Lifting hook over-hoist prevention
- Boom backstop limiter
- Working angle limiter with audible and visual alerts above 80°
- Moment limiter with multi-stage warning system
- Mechanical load rate indicators and load rate signal lamps
- Integrated walkie-talkie communication system
The main frame is constructed from two box-type beams with internal reinforcements, while the turret assembly is centralized and compact to maintain balance and minimize swing inertia. With a fully enclosed cab, ergonomic controls, and onboard sensors including angle and tension detectors, the operator is provided with real-time feedback and superior operational control.
The track travelling system is designed with two independent frames per side, using dual drive wheels and 10 pairs of supporting rollers. Its footprint is extensive with a track length of 5700 mm, a gauge of 3800 mm, and a full track frame width of 7600 mm — which contributes to excellent ground stability and weight distribution.
Meeting 2000/14/EC outdoor noise emission standards, the Sunward SWQUY55 is a versatile, efficient, and safety-focused crane suitable for infrastructure, foundation engineering, and energy construction projects.
