Product Description
The Liebherr LG 1800-1.0 is an 800-ton capacity lattice boom crane mounted on a mobile chassis, offering both the strength of a lattice boom system and the mobility advantages of a truck crane. Set to launch in the first half of 2024, it is designed to replace the LG 1750 model, surpassing its predecessor in terms of load capacity, ease of transport, and versatility. The LG 1800-1.0 can lift up to 800 tons at a 9-meter radius, comparable to Liebherr’s crawler crane, the LR 1800-1.0, making it one of the most powerful wheeled lattice boom cranes on the market.
The crane’s main boom can reach lengths from 36 to 180 meters, and when paired with a luffing jib, it can extend to a maximum hook height of 208 meters. It can be configured with a boom and jib combination of up to 108 meters of main boom and 102 meters of luffing jib. This flexibility, along with the optimized wind power boom system, allows the crane to operate at hub heights of up to 180 meters, making it particularly suitable for wind farm installations. The WindSpeed load charts ensure safe operation in wind conditions of up to 13.4 m/s.
The LG 1800-1.0 features a nine-axle chassis designed for global road transport compliance. Its specialized axle configuration ensures an axle load of just 10 tons, allowing the crane to travel on public roads with all four supports and a total weight of 90 tons. Alternatively, it can be transported with two supports and a reduced weight of 70 tons or completely without supports at 50 tons. This crane also boasts excellent off-road capabilities, handling gradients up to 25%, making it ideal for challenging construction sites.
The crane is powered by two high-performance Liebherr 8-cylinder diesel engines. The drive engine delivers 505 kW, while the crane engine provides 455 kW, ensuring ample power for both mobility and lifting operations. The crane features ZF TraXon Torque transmission with ECOdrive for efficient and fuel-saving operations.
One of the standout features is its compatibility with the equipment of the LR 1800-1.0, allowing the LG 1800-1.0 to share components such as lattice jibs, head sections, and counterweights, reducing operational costs. The 10-ton counterweight plates are also designed for compatibility with other Liebherr crawler cranes, improving transport efficiency across projects.
The crane’s non-telescopic folding beams provide a 13 x 13-meter support base, ensuring stability during heavy lifts, even without the derrick system. Its fixed supports are easy to attach and detach, thanks to Liebherr’s quick coupling system, simplifying setup and dismantling.
With a driving speed of up to 85 km/h, the Liebherr LG 1800-1.0 provides unparalleled mobility for a crane of its class, making it a versatile option for heavy-lift tasks in wind energy, industrial construction, and large-scale infrastructure projects. Its advanced technologies, such as V-Frame and VarioTray, further enhance its performance by providing flexible load distribution and simplified setup processes.
