A derailed train that caused travel chaos when it came off the tracks at a Newcastle depot on 22nd March has finally been moved.
Workers from Northern Rail were spotted using two cranes in the effort to get the train restored back to where it should be.
The incident caused major disruption to several rail services in and out of Newcastle on Tuesday. An investigation has now been launched and the Rail Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.
Dramatic images showed the TransPennine Express service which had come off the tracks and smashed into the concrete near the Heaton depot at around 6.30 am on Tuesday. No commuters were on board when the train derailed and it was confirmed there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
