The Demag AC120-1 is an all-terrain crane known for its remarkable capabilities packed into a compact design. With a carrier width of just 2.75 meters, it stands out as one of the most powerful cranes within its size class. This five-axle crane boasts a carrier length of merely 11.17 meters, emphasizing its compactness without compromising performance. It carries an 8.2-ton counterweight, ensuring an axle load of only 12 tons, which facilitates easier transportation and compliance with road regulations.

Equipped with a 60-meter main boom, the AC120-1 offers extensive reach, further extendable with an optional boom extension ranging from 9.1 meters to 33.0 meters, providing versatility for various lifting tasks. The Demag AC120-1 all-terrain crane boasts a comprehensive set of features that underline its capability and reliability across a range of lifting operations. Its carrier is designed for maximum efficiency and operational readiness, with a configuration that ensures optimal performance both on and off the road.

  • Drive/Steering: It operates with a 10 x 6 x 8 drive and steering configuration, ensuring robust maneuverability and stability under various conditions.
  • Frame and Outriggers: The crane’s monobox main frame incorporates outrigger boxes made of high-strength fine-grain structural steel. It features four hydraulically telescoping outrigger beams with hydraulic jack legs for solid stability during operations.
  • Engine Specifications: Powered by a DaimlerChrysler OM 502 LA water-cooled 8-cylinder engine, it delivers 350 kW (476 HP) at 1800 rpm, with a maximum torque of 2300 Nm at 1300 rpm. The engine meets EURO MOT 3a, Tier 3, and CARB emissions standards. The fuel tank has a 500-liter capacity, ensuring extended operation times.
  • Transmission and Axles: The crane is equipped with a ZF AS-Tronic electronically automated transmission, featuring 16 forward and 2 reverse speeds with an integrated retarder and cruise control. The axles are designed to support the crane’s operational demands, with specific configurations for steering, rigidity, and differential lockout control across its five axles.
  • Suspension, Wheels, and Tyres: It employs a hydropneumatic suspension system, with all axles hydraulically blockable for enhanced performance. The crane runs on 10 wheels fitted with 14.00 R 25 tyres.
  • Steering and Brakes: Advanced steering and brake systems are in place, including ZF dual-circuit semiblock mechanical steering with hydraulic booster and ABS for the brakes. These features contribute to the crane’s safety and ease of maneuverability.
  • Electrical Equipment and Driver’s Cab: The AC120-1 features a 24 V electrical system and a driver’s cab designed for operator comfort and convenience. The cab includes ergonomically arranged controls, safety features like pneumatically sprung and heated seats with three-point seat belts, electrically adjustable mirrors, and comprehensive heating and air-conditioning systems. Additional amenities include a radio with CD player and ample stowage compartments.
