Product Description

The Demag AC 250-5 is a high-capacity, five-axle all-terrain crane that combines power, extensive reach, and advanced technology. With a maximum lifting capacity of 250 tons, this crane is designed to operate efficiently in diverse environments, from tight urban spaces to challenging off-road sites.

Technical Specifications:

  • Engine: The crane is powered by a Scania DC13 diesel engine, offering 368 kW (500 HP) at 2100 rpm, with a torque of 2373 Nm at 1300 rpm. The engine complies with stringent Euromot 4/Tier 4F emissions standards, featuring a complete stainless steel exhaust system.
  • Transmission and Axles: The AC 250-5 has a ZF AS-Tronic automated gearbox with integrated hydraulic retarder, 12 forward speeds, and 2 reverse, complemented by a two-stage transfer case with a switchable off-road gear. The crane’s 10 x 6 x 10 drive configuration includes five axles with the last three driven and equipped with selectable transverse and longitudinal locks, enhancing its off-road capabilities.
  • Suspension and Steering: It features a hydropneumatic suspension with axle load compensation and a dual-circuit steering system with independent rear axle steering, allowing for 6 different steering programs.
  • Superstructure: The telescopic boom (HA70) extends from 12.7 m to 70 m and includes a single-cylinder telescoping system with automatic telescoping. The counterweight totals 51.6 tons, which aids stability during lifting operations.
  • Control System and Operator Aids: The AC 250-5 is equipped with an IC-1 control system that enables four simultaneous working movements, with electric pilot controls via two two-axis joysticks. The crane features an integrated electronic load moment indicator in accordance with EN13000, a color display, load charts, fault indicators, and an LMI-load signal light. It also includes a data logger for recording crane operations.
  • Extensions and Attachments: A range of extensions and attachments are available for the AC 250-5, including additional sheaves for the main boom head, heavy lift attachments, a second hoist, and various lattice swing-away jib options manually or hydraulically offsettable, enhancing the crane’s versatility.
  • Safety and Convenience Features: The crane is equipped with a remote control for superstructure movements, outrigger load indicator, working range limiter, and the IC-1 Plus system for higher lifting capacities and capacity precalculation in asymmetric outrigger configurations. It also includes air conditioning for both the carrier and crane cabs and a variety of hook blocks for different lifting needs.

The Demag AC 250-5 is well-suited for heavy lifting applications where its long boom and substantial counterweight system enable it to handle complex lifting tasks with ease. Its advanced control system and extensive range of attachments make it a versatile choice for projects requiring precision and efficiency.
