Key Features & Benefits

The Zoomlion ZCC18000 crawler crane made its public debut during Bauma Shanghai in November 2020, where it immediately drew attention as the largest crane on display and the centerpiece of the Zoomlion booth. This super heavy-duty crawler crane is rated at 1,600 tonnes and was purpose-built to meet the growing demands of wind energy infrastructure, particularly for erecting large-scale wind turbines that require exceptional lifting height and load capacity. The first production unit was delivered to Wan Tai Lifting Corp in Guangzhou, China, marking the start of its field deployment in high-profile wind power projects.

Equipped with two interchangeable boom configurations—Superlift Heavy Main Boom (SDB) and Superlift Light Main Boom (SLDB)—the ZCC18000 delivers excellent versatility. The SDB provides a maximum lifting moment of 18,000 t·m, with a boom length between 42 and 102 meters. In contrast, the SLDB configuration, which extends the boom length to between 90 and 150 meters, is optimized for lighter but higher lifting applications, offering a rated performance of 650 txm at a 16-meter radius. These features make the ZCC18000 especially suitable for wind turbine erection, where extreme vertical reach is essential.

The crane’s mechanical performance is equally robust. The hoisting winch operates at 133 m/min, while the main boom derricking winch provides 55×2 m/min and the superlift derricking winch delivers 127 m/min. Slewing is handled at a rate of 0.7 rpm, and the crawler tracks support a maximum traveling speed of 0.7 km/h—appropriate for stable maneuvering under heavy loads.

Its counterweight system includes a suspended ballast of up to 500 tons with adjustable radii (18–27 meters), rear counterweights of 250 or 170 tons, and a central ballast of 70 tons. The undercarriage features a wide track gauge of 11,000 mm and a contact length of 14,260 mm to maximize stability. Powering the ZCC18000 is a 641 kW engine, providing the crane with the endurance and strength needed for prolonged operations in challenging environments. Overall, the ZCC18000 is a high-performance crawler crane engineered for next-generation lifting challenges, with a design focus on wind energy and heavy infrastructure projects.
