Key Features & Benefits
The Grove Showa RT250 is a 25-ton capacity rough terrain crane designed for efficient lifting and travel over uneven jobsite conditions. The crane is equipped with a 4-section telescopic boom ranging from 8.8 to 28.0 meters, with a maximum lifting height of 28.7 meters. An optional jib—available in 7.0 and 12.0 meter lengths—extends the lifting height to a maximum of 40.4 meters. Jib offsets are selectable at 5°, 30°, enabling flexibility for up-and-over or elevated lift scenarios.
Rated lifting capacities include 25,000 kg at 3.5 meters with the 8.8-meter boom, down to 1,000 kg at 75° with the 12.0-meter jib. The crane supports a maximum working radius of 33 meters and has an efficient boom elevation range of -3° to 80°. Boom extension is controlled via dual hydraulic cylinders and rope-assisted systems.
Winch performance is robust, with a main and auxiliary winch speed of up to 116 meters per minute on the fourth layer, and a low-speed mode at 58 meters per minute. Both winches are hydraulically powered and equipped with automatic braking, safety holding valves, and drum locks. The maximum boom lifting speed is achieved in 63 seconds.
Mounted on a rugged carrier, the RT250 is powered by a turbocharged Hino EP100-T diesel engine with a displacement of 8.821 liters, delivering 200 PS at 2,200 rpm and 73 kg·m of torque at 1,600 rpm. It features selectable 4×2 or 4×4 drive, with a torque converter and power shift transmission offering 6 forward and 6 reverse speeds. The crane achieves a top road speed of 49 km/h and has a strong climbing ability rated at 0.6 tan(θ).
The steering system includes full hydraulic power steering with an auxiliary emergency steering unit and crab steering function. Outriggers are fully hydraulic, with a maximum extension of 6.1 meters. The RT250 is fitted with 16.00–25–28PR (OR) tires and an onboard fuel tank capacity of 300 liters.
The vehicle’s total operating weight is 26.2 tons, with dimensions measuring 10,780 mm in length, 2,620 mm in width, and 3,520 mm in height. This well-balanced combination of lifting power, mobility, and safety systems—such as moment limiters, winch drum locks, and multi-stage braking—makes the Grove Showa RT250 a reliable and versatile crane for use across a wide range of construction and industrial sites.
