The Kobelco RKE450-3.1 rough terrain crane offers an exceptional balance between lifting capacity, reach, and jobsite agility. Designed as a 45.0 metric ton class city crane, it is equipped with a six-section box-type boom, telescoping hydraulically from 7.9 m to 34.0 m. Boom extension is fast and smooth with a speed of 120 seconds for 26.1 m, and it achieves a maximum lifting height of 34.15 meters from the main boom and 44.4 meters with a jib.

This crane supports multiple jib configurations, including:

• Manual jib: 6.3 m or 10.2 m lengths

The crane is driven by a HINO E13C diesel engine, a 6-cylinder turbocharged and intercooled powerplant delivering 330 kW (449 PS) at 1800 rpm and peak torque of 1,930 Nm at 1300 rpm. Paired with a hydrostatic (HST) CVT transmission and full-time 6×6 all-wheel drive and steering, it allows smooth movement even in challenging terrain. The system offers multiple steering modes: on-road (1st and 3rd axles), crab mode, clamp mode, and manual combinations.

For lifting precision, the main winch uses a 16 mm wire rope, with a line pull of 4,500 kg and line speed up to 120 m/min. The swing mechanism offers 360° rotation with a swing speed of 2.1 rpm, powered by a hydraulic motor and planetary reduction gear.

The outriggers are of the H-type, fully hydraulic, with five extension widths ranging from 2.17 m (minimum) to 6.47 m (maximum). This allows for stable lifting in variable space conditions. The crane structure integrates an emergency steering pump, ABS, and rear steering auto-lock, along with a host of operator aids including hoist and rear view cameras, safety monitoring, moment limiter, over-hoist prevention, and automatic swing stop.

The total weight is 36,000 kg, distributed evenly across three axles (12,000 kg each), and it travels at speeds up to 80 km/h. The crane is also equipped with a 400-liter fuel tank, air-conditioned cab, centralized greasing system, and safety systems compliant with EN13000 and ASME B30.5.
